I heard about Bob Goff originally when in the summer when it was warm and nice to take a walk outside and listen to podcasts. I was listening to Whoa that’s good podcast by Sadie Robertson - I can do a review on this podcast to if you want - Sadie was interviewing Bob Goff on his best advice. Little did I know when I got home my mom had a stack of books on our entertainment center. They were all these different year long devotionals. Bob Goff’s book was lying on top and I was just listening to him like five seconds ago right? So I chose to read this book. So I started reading this book in June and because it’s a a devotional divided into the twelve months I read one month a day because I had the time and I wanted to get on track. I ended finishing my 2020 devotional a day early because 2020 is a leap year. Each day in the book starts with a piece of his advice. Right under the advice title is a bible verse to go along. He then gives an anecdote to put his advice into perspective and for us to understand the advice and verse better. After that he puts a question to ponder to go along with the readings: I liked to pray right after that to get the full affect and ponder the question with God’s help. I enjoyed reading a chapter of the Bible after this, journaling about my day then putting my head down to sleep. That was the best way for me to end my night. I highly recommend Bob’s work especially his devotional Live in Grace Walk in Love.
My 2021 devotional is Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. Happy New Year! Have a great 2021! What is your word/resolution for 2021?
