Recipe 4/52: Cinnamon Chip Bars

These were supposed to be butterscotch bars. A recipe I got from a family friend over winter break.  Unfortunately I did not have butterscotch chips so I substituted cinnamon chips for butterscotch chips.  The recipe is nothing fancy it’s the nestle toll house chocolate chip cookie recipe but substituted for cinnamon chips or butterscotch chips baked in a 9 x 13 pan. The last substitution I made was I used gluten free flour normally I would use oat flour but I ran out of that so I used the Namaste perfect blend flour.

The texture was a little dry and crumbly. I eyeballed the amount of chips to add instead of measuring like most bakers would. After I spread it in the pan I put some chips on top of that too. There was not a lot inside the batter.

If you’ve ever made a toll house recipe you will know it’s pretty easy to make. So it did not take me long to make this. I appreciated that to. When I was taking it out of the oven the middle was jiggly so I left it in for the max amount of time. The inside is fully cooked and the outside is a little crunchy. Nobody in my family minded that though.
