This book was definitely the most memorable book of this series for me. In this book we learn the location of Percy after he gets lost. He's right outside the Roman demi-god camp. Camp Jupiter. Camp Half-Blood is the polar opposite of Camp Jupiter. He can only remember three things 1)He is Percy Jackson 2)He is a demi-god 3)One of his friends name is Annabeth but he can't remember who she is or anything else. As you would predict in Rick's writing he gives alot of information about Roman mythology and a little but of Greek mythology along the way. Ella the Harpy we meet near the end of the book states random fun facts to keep her calm from her what seems like Post Traumatuc Stress Disorder. I really enjoy that Rick incorporates facts he likes through a character.
In chapter thirty Queen Hylla is the ruler of the amazons. I was reading this right around the time that the first female Vice President Kamala Harris was inaugurated. A very cool time to read this chapter. I think it's really cool that Rick incorporates women in power in a book based on Greek mythology. And if you didn't know Greek democracy was very strong on male leaders but as time and mythology evolved from Greek mythology into Roman mythology the government evolved onto women in power!!! Although in this chapter the amazons discriminate against men. Just as the hunters do in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I enjoy the women in power but I am not about discimination.
Chapter thirty-five is a really emotional story from the perspective of Frank. We meet his last living ancestor besides his immortal father Mars (or Ares the god of war) his grandmother on her deathbed. In her dialogue with Frank we learn how supportive and strong she is. I really enjoy how supportive and strong the women in this story are portrayed. Sadly Frank has to leave to continue his quest with Hazel and Percy before his grandmother dies. This is definitely in the top three most emotional chapters in this book.
As for the format of this book. It has five hundred thirteen pages divided into fifty-two chapters told in the perspective of the three main characters Percy, Hazel, and Frank.
I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars. This may be my favorite book of The Heroes of Olympus series.
