Book 1/85: The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Warning: This is a reread for me. But I decided to share all the books I read this year on the blog, so here we are.

I started reading this book in 2020. Then I fell into a reading slump, sadly.😢 This took me a couple of months to read. This not my one of my favorite Rick Riordan books.
3 Likes :
1. The book was humorously as most of Ricks books are. It was written for middle grade so he had to make some of the difficult subjects lighter.
2. It incorporated the basics of Roman mythology as well as a little more advanced Greek mythology as we have already learned about the basics of Greek mythology in his first series of the camp half-blood chronicles.
3. In the back of the book it has a reference of the famous Greek and Roman gods and heroes mentioned in the book that beginners would not know of.

3 dislikes:
1. The book is written in chapters by perspectives of the characters. Some of the characters are unlikable so when you get to that characters chapter you might lose your desire to read. (People who have already read this you know who I am talking about😉)
2. Because this book is the beginning of a new camp half-blood chronicle series Rick had to reiterate the basics of Greek mythology. Boring when you already know the stuff it’s like sitting in a Kindergarten math class when you’ve already graduated from high school level math.
3. The book is very long and the action feels very slow. I would have appreciated faster paced action.

I would rate this book a 3/5 stars ⭐️.
